Are there any good martial arts movies or documentaries on today?
if you love martial arts, you must get "Hero" and "Hiding Tiger Crouching Dragon" (I think I got that title correct)
Reply:Unfortunately, there aren't many good documentaries any more, and the ones that come out do so very infrequently.

Ong Bak, Fearless...for movies
Reply:There good stories, good fight scenes, fantasy fight scenes and such. For a good story and fantasy fights, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, along with the House of Flying Daggers, and Hero are all good flicks. I really don't like the whole movie of Flying daggers, but the fighting is pretty so to speak. The story is Ok. The Perfect Weapon show cased a version of American Kenpo Karate. Enter the Dragon was a good Bruce Lee film. Jackie Chan has some beautiful choreography in all his movies.

Ong Bak (spelling, sorry) is suppose to highlight Muay Thai and I've heard good reviews.

Some folks liked "The One" with Jet Li. It highlighted a linear style vs. a circular style. Personally I liked that aspect of it. Hmm, none of these are new. Sorry about that.

As far as documentaries go, there is Fight Science from National Geographic and Discovery did something a while ago but I really didn't think it was very good. There are some older ones that are OK. Check out your library!
