What is the name of this martial arts kick...?

The person is on one leg, while the other is high in the air, usually 180 degrees from the other leg...is this makes any sense at all lol. In movies or whatever, they usually plant the kick in the opponents chin, which then sends the person hit into the air a bit with an arch on their back...

What is the name of this martial arts kick...?
i think its a simple front kick
Reply:That would be the "Chuck Norris".
Reply:It sounds like a side kick which can be placed anywhere on your opponents body, knee , belly or the head.
Reply:its either called a jumping front kick or a right/left leg bending stance type A (i know this because i do taekwondo a martial art)
Reply:sorry; not enough details! There is more than one kick than can go high in the air; including roundhouse; reverse roundhouse; spinning round house ( which I think is one that Chuck Norris uses a lot)side thrust kick. It depends on where you are compared to the opponent.
Reply:The only kick, I believe, possible of going up 180 degrees is the Side kick. Its possible because you can even go more than 180 degress. I saw it on Discovery Channel that day. It was a program called "Go Warrior". They featured a korean taekwondo grandmaster who could kick out a 180 degrees side kick. But it wouldn't be a side kick because its being kick straight up. Not very practical actually. Theres no other kick that can go up 180 degrees other than the side kick I think. This kick is mainly used for demo purposes and I have never seen anyone using it in practical.
Reply:A hollywood sidekick .
