How did they do all that kick azz martial arts stuff in the Matrix movies?

How do they do all the martial arts and fight scenes in the Matrix films? I find it hard to believe that Kianu Reeves and the rest of the actors that starred in it are that good at martial arts.

How did they do all that kick azz martial arts stuff in the Matrix movies?

wire work, cgi, ground breaking new filming techniques and months of physical training. See the link for more detail

as for stunt doubles, the actors did do over half their own stunt work
Reply:They just learned the moved and practiced them until they looked spontaneous.
Reply:They either have stunt doubles or the have wires on usually the always have wires in even if they have a stunt double.Like Jackie Chan he has wires but most likely no stunt double.
Reply:they have wires and pros
Reply:They learned just enough so that they could look good, plus the wire-flying helped as well.
Reply:wire work, greenscreens, lots and lots of pracitce for the actors to learn how to fight
Reply:With wires and high speed cameras, lots of them. Watch the special features on the first movie, their is a part about how they did all the special effects. It's really cool stuff.
Reply:A lot green screen work, practising the moves and sequences until they flow, high speed cameras, clever editing, stunt doubles, CGI and good old wire work (which I do where I work ;) )

They arent necessarily good at martial arts. They act - they learn what they are to do until it looks 'realistic'
Reply:They learned the moves. Choreography.
Reply:its thye effect that smoking to much crack has on the cast it makes them all dead slow n violent
Reply:Special effects and wires
